We had a few beers in the Flying Scotsman and the Rose and Crown and many in a casino bar in one of the malls near the bus and train station, All were great with good food and beer prices ranging from 32 krona to 59 krona, 32 Krona being special offer all day till 7 on Carlsburg and at £2.50 not bad at all. At £4.50 for Guinness, I would say that is cheaper than I pay in English bars in the Med. I couldn't find the £8 pints anywhere! General prices outwith happy hours were 49 Krona - not bad at £3.70.

Great weekend in Gothenburg though the price of a pint is about £5 on the main Avenyn and £4 on the side streets leading off it. Don't drink at the small marina/ tourist trap as i paid £6.30 !! (71 SEK)

Just got back from Gothenburg May 2010. Nice city. Pint of beer on the Avenyn, main nightlife street is approx £5 . Head off down the sidestreets and you will pay more like £4. Avoid the tourist trap/rip off cafe beside the small marina as you will pay £6.30 a pint !! I fell for that on arriving. Check out the Rose and Crown and Glow club next door. Had a good time there.

(October 2010) In the city centre pubs and clubs you are looking at about £4 to £6 for a pint of beer or 500ml bottle of 6% Spendrups (nice stuff!). Spirits and a mixer (e.g. single vodka and coke) cost about £7 to £8. On Friday's from about 4pm till 9pm many places do "afterwork" which where beer is cheaper, at around £3.

I dont know where you would find a pint in Helsignborg for £2.88. You would hardly find a "Stor Stark" which is 40-50 cl för that price. The average pint in Helsingborg is more like 50-60 Sek (£4,31-£5,17).

Venue's are great, service is great, beer tastes great but the the prices seem high (50-60 Kronor a pint and up at all joints) especially when you see how cheap a bottle goes for at the Systembolagate (G'ment Liquor store), 8-12 Kronor a bottle.

They seldom serve real pints in Sweden. 40 cl usually costs around 4-5 Euro. From 2.50 at the shabbier places in Stockholm up to 6 Euro at upper class establishments in the centre. Still, it's cheaper than a 4cl standard drink at 10-14 Euro.

Many places in Stockholm offer half liter beers for 29 SEK, you can also get 33cl bottles for 19 SEK in a few well-visited spots. Some of the prices for Sweden are ridicilous, Grand Hotel probably has the most expensive beer, but that is a 5 star hotel by the sea!! That beer runs for about £6, there is no way in hell you can pay more than £6 for a pint in Sweden, most common average´in city centre night clubs is about just under £4

I'd say the normal price is 50-60kr, which equates to about £4-5. There are cheaper and more expensive places, of course - avoid Östermalm if you don't want to empty your account - but at most places you'll be in this range for an average pint.
