Tiger is the main beer in Singapore on tap, bottles and cans. Tiger is not the cheapest can in supermarkets. Carlsberg and Heineken are next on tap. So far (31/08/09) I haven't found any cider on tap. Some pubs chill the mugs, so they are colder than room temp. They sometimes add ice, so the beer would end up watered down. Some pubs have great service where they top you up without going to the bar. Jugs or buckets to share are sometimes the best deal, but if you get topped up you dont know how many pints you've had. Paying for drinks in Singapore varies. Sometimes you pay for each round in the leather wallet style thing. CHECK your change, I was S$10 short once. The other way is to pay at the end of the night. You must remeber what you've had or you could pay more. Make sure you have enough to pay before ordering, because not every place take cards. GST (like VAT) is sometimes added on after the drink price and maybe a service charge (tip). The price may have a + after for each of these charges. Example $18++.

There are loads of places that serve cider, strongbow generally but still... any harrys, the penny black, muddy murphys, scruffy murphys, the dubliner, molly malones. Your going to pay about 15-20$ fot it but wednesday is ladies night, at many places and girls can get in free most places.. Attica girls get in free and have 5 free drinks, carnegies girls get in free with free champagne.. unfortunately this is the complete opposite for lads, you will have to cough up the cash and some places will have an age limit of 18 for girls and 25 for lads!!!

Alcohol is ridiculously expensive in Singapore and the nightlife is hardly what you'd expect for a city of its size. The trains don't run all night long so you might want to have money for a taxi, too.

probably the best deal you can get in Singapore for beer is at NTUC (a local supermarket) : a 6-pack for 10 Singapore dollars...around 7 USD or 4 pounds. Anchor beer's the best!
