In Temple Bar Street the prices are very high because thats where the tourists go. A bit off the prices are a bit lower, but still excpensive compared with the rest of Ireland.

The beer is ok but a pint of Heineken can cost €6. not worth it considering you can also buy Fosters for €3 in other pubs.

Dublin
Rubbish beer at criminal prices, rude locals, ugly women. Welcome to Dublin.

Dublin
While the average cost for a pint of larger in Dublin City Centre would be €5. There are places like the Hop House on Parnell Street (bang in the middle of the City) where you can get Bavaria for €3.50 a pint.

Dublin
Cider

dublin
Light refreshing crisp lager served in Penny Hill Pub,Lucan,co. Dublin

Dublin
Bulmers/Magners. Famous Irish cider and I'd say that at least a fifth to a quarter of pints pulled in the Irish capital are this brand. Prices start at around 5.50 E in the City Centre, but beware of buying a drink after midnight, with prices rocketing to about 6.15 E in the inner city as soon as the clock strikes 12!!

Dublin
Very expensive mid week pints in Dublin

Dublin
Nice city, but expensive beer

Dublin

Dublin
Guiness at a pub in Ballsbridge

Dublin
All Lagers are priced from E4.20 upwards. Anything over E4.40 is in certain extortioante areas like Temple Bar, or Hotels. Don't confuse these places with 'normal' bars and pubs prices. Guiness generally averages out at E4.10, (from E3.65-E4.60)

dublin
expensive

Dublin (Temple Bar)
€6.70 for a Guinness works out at SIX POUNDS FORTY at the current exchange rate. Not ideal for getting drunk...

Malahide is a coastal village, with a rather large population of Restaurants (37?), and 3 pubs, I think Guinness is slightly cheaper, around €4.85(?) It is a popular destination, scenic coastal walks etc, so they have a captive client base, even with the economic worries Thurs to Sat nights are still very busy, however Sun-Wed do seem less busy.
