Kozel, Saris, Smadny Mnich ( the most sold beer in Slovakia ) have to visit "U 2 Levov". Out of the town center is going cheeper cca 20-30 SVK. Need also to taste the slovak RUM called UM ( 30 SVK for DCL )

The beers are all good, avoid pubs with no draught beer as it will cost you as much as 4 euros a bottle on the side streets of Bratislava beer was around 1.20 euro.

Bratislava is a really nice place. English and German is widely understood. Don't speak Russian unless you don't want any service (and maybe get tossed out on your ass). I was used to paying in the range of $0.75 - $ 1.25 USD. As mentioned by other posters KGB is a popular bar I'd recommend. If you buy beer in a grocery store you can get for as little as $0.25 per 0,5l for schwagy beer and rarely more than $0.75 each for premium. Zlaty Bazant (Golden Pheasant) is the best!

Hotel Kyjev bar - 1 Euro for .5 litre of Zlatny Bazant. Slang Bar & Slovak Pub - 1.6 Euro for .5 litre. Irish Bar was 2.30 for a Zlatny Bazant but 4 Euro for .4 litre of Guinness. Tesco next to Hotel Kyjev had bottles of beer starting from 25c for .5 litre and bottles of Slovak wine starting at 1 Euro. Overall, an extremely cheap place for a good drink !!! November 2009.
