Normal price of beer in Iceland is 500 IKr approx 3.86 GBP. If you know where to go it can be less.

Beer is very, very expensive in Iceland. Icelanders buy beer in a special liquor store, drink it at home, then go to the pubs where the beer is almost three times the price in the liquor store.

A couple of bars in the center city averaged 600-700ISK a pint. The Gull is no good. Stick to the Viking for local brew!

Highlander, Dubliner and Celtic Cross in central Reykjavik were charging 500 ISK (about £3.40) for a local brew. Most I paid was 600 ISK, lowest was 450 in Belly's. Takk fyrir!

Just back from Reykjavik, it was not as expensive as we thought it would be. Amazing beautiful place and the people were lovely. Paid 500 kron for a pink of Viking, about £3.50. Normal price is about 700 kron. Go visit! Emma
