Our local was called Phoenix near Edgware Rd. Lovely staff and a Guinness costs 2.8 pounds. Kronenbourg is 2.9 as is Fosters. Stay away from John Smith's Extra Smooth and just have a Guinness.

no way is it ever close to 4 quid average. even in a really nice bar in london it wont be much more than 4 quid.£2.9 is far more accurate

I'd say I pay on average £2.75 on a pint in London. My local, The Green Man Soho, by Oxford St, charges £2.10 on a pint of Carlsberg and £2.15 on the Fosters

Look out for the small pubs who arent with the big chains, if they serve Alpine, its rubbish lager but very cheap!

The local pubs - Blackbird, Prince of Teck, Earls Court Tavern, Courtfield, & Kings Head are all similar. Mostly great and friendly staff, most beers and lagers about 3 .00.
